Sweets | Lemon Sorbet with Citron Vodka
Revised on February 28, 2012
I got the idea for this from a trip to Paris. It was a hot day, the sun was still out when I ate dinner. I don't remember what I had but I do remember having lemon sorbet with vodka for dessert. I always wanted to try making it. Serve with a splash of vodka.
Yield: 1 pint
Ingredients
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice, strained
2 tablespoons citron vodka
Method
In a saucepan, bring sugar and water to a boil. Reduce to a simmer. Simmer until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool.
Add sugar and water mixture to the lemon juice, holding back a little to adjust at the end. Once you like the sweetness, add vodka.
Chill thoroughly, then freeze in your ice cream maker according to the manufacture's instructions.
