Basically a rum and coke. I just love saying "Cuba Libre" though. I made a matching cupcake Cuba Libre Cupcake.
Yield: 1 serving
Ingredients
2 ounces Bacardi white rum
4 ounces Mexican Coca-Cola
1/4 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice, about 1/4 lime
perfect ice cubes
Method
Combine all ingredients into a glass and stir gently.
Mexican Coca-Cola has a slightly different formula and no high-fructose corn syrup. It is available at BevMo.
Perfect ice cubes are made from silicone trays that make perfectly square ice cubes. These cubes melt more slowly and keep your drink colder longer. I bought mine at Sur La Table but have also seen them at Whole Foods.
